CSV Import issues for Exchanges

In this article, we will explain the most common CSV import issues and how to resolve them.

The first step in addressing CSV issues is to re-import the CSV data. This can be done by heading to the specific CSV importer page.

In order to guide you through the process of a CSV data re-import in CoinTracking, we created an example of a successful re-import:

Example: Re-import of Phemex CSV data

Please note: Check again, if you have downloaded the correct file and you are using the correct importer (this is the main reason for incorrect CSV imports).

Do not open exported CSV files on your PC with programs like Excel, since this may corrupt the date and decimal format of the file after saving it again. In case you need to open and check the CSV file, you can use a text based editor like Notepad++.

Before re-importing the CSV data, please make sure to create a Backup in your account.

In order to delete the incorrect CSV data in your account, head to Transactions -> "Bulk edit/delete" and delete the Phemex data.

Now head to the Phemex CSV Import and import the CSV data by following our guidelines on the specific importer pages. Please take your time and export as well as import the CSV data exactly as mentioned in the descriptions.

Don't forget to check for any restrictions on the CSV import page. Skipping them could result in missing data:

Please also check the types of data imports supported for each CSV import. You can find this information on the right side of the specific importer page.

Please note:

Not all exchanges provide access to complete CSV information.

If a CSV file doesn't support certain data, CoinTracking will be unable to import it. In such cases, please manually enter the missing data on the Transactions page.

If the re-imported CSV data still reports issues in your account, please check the following:

  • If the CSV file is not importing correctly, and you are an advanced user, you can use the Custom Importer
  • If the data is after all still not working, please let us know by contacting our CoinTracking Support.
