Spam Center

In this article, we will explain the structure of the Spam Center and show you how to mark transactions as spam and delete them.

This article is divided into 7 sections:

1) How to find the Spam Center

2) What is the Spam Center?

3) What do the different tabs in the Spam Center mean?

4) How do I mark or unmark tokens as spam?

5) Can I delete related transactions when marking a token as spam?

6) What happens if I unmark a token as spam?

7) What should I do if a valid token appears in the Potential Spam list?

8) Additonal Information

1) How to find the Spam Center

You can find the Spam Center by hovering over ' Charts & Tools'  on the top right of your CoinTracking account.

2) What is the Spam Center?

The Spam Center is a feature that helps you manage tokens that may not be valid or trusted. It is divided into three tabs: Potential Spam, Spam, and Not Spam. You can review and manually mark tokens based on their validity and your preferences.

3) What do the different tabs in the Spam Center mean?

  • Potential Spam: Tokens identified as invalid or suspicious by blockchain explorers.

  • Spam: Tokens you have manually marked as spam.

  • Not Spam: Tokens you have marked as not spam.

4) How do I mark or unmark tokens as spam?

You can mark or unmark tokens in two ways:

In the Spam Center: Navigate through the tabs (Potential Spam, Spam, Not Spam) and mark or unmark tokens manually.

In the Transaction List: When editing a transaction, you will see the options to 'Mark as Spam' or 'Remove from Spam.'

In both cases, when marking a token as spam, you will be shown related transactions and have the option to delete them. Additionally, once a token is marked as spam, it will no longer be imported by our blockchain importer.

5) Can I delete related transactions when marking a token as spam?

Yes, whether you mark a token as spam in the Spam Center or through the transaction list, you will be shown related transactions and asked if you want to delete them. You can choose to remove all associated transactions if needed.

6) What happens if I unmark a token as spam?

If you unmark a token that was previously marked as spam, it will no longer appear in the Spam tab and will move to either Potential Spam or Not Spam, depending on the context. However, the token will still need to be manually reimported if it was excluded by the blockchain importer.

7) What should I do if a valid token appears in the Potential Spam list?

Tokens in the Potential Spam tab are identified as potentially invalid or risky based on data from blockchain explorers. This helps you identify tokens that may pose a risk.

If a valid token appears in the Potential Spam list, you can mark it as 'Not Spam' to move it to the appropriate tab and prevent it from being flagged again.

8) Additonal Information

  • The Spam Center and mark as spam function are currently only available for the following blockchains:  ADA, AETH, ALGO, ATOM, AVAX, BNB, BSC, CRO, DOT, ELGD, ETH, LINEA, FTM, LUNA, SOL

  • Spam tokens imported through legacy blockchain jobs do not support the 'Mark as Spam' feature. To enable this feature, please delete these previously imported transactions and re-import them using the current importer. This process will ensure compatibility with the 'Mark as Spam' feature

Here you can see old (legacy v1 & v2) importer versions for Ethereum as an example:
