Setting up an account the first time can be quite a time consuming process, especially if you import transactions of a lot of exchanges via API. These APIs will cease to function if the premium membership expires and the account is not covered by a premium membership for an extended period of time. The automatic renewal guarantees a gap-free coverage of your account with a premium membership so that you do not have to manually re-purchase these and even go through the hassle of resetting all of your APIs in case they have suspend their operation.
