Kucoin Import Restrictions

TL;DR

KuCoin API imports have major restrictions. It only supports the last 12 months of data and misses certain transaction types like Margin PnL, Earn (partly), Sub-Account Bot Trades, Crypto Lending, Spotlight, KuCoin Win, Fast Trades, and Borrowing. Full yearly data is only pulled when you save a new job or click Check Now, while the daily auto-import grabs only the last few days. For transactions that can't be imported (Margin/Futures results, Bot trades), there are recommended workarounds below, and CoinTracking's account-check tools (ValiCheck, Transaction Flow Report, Missing Transactions Report) can help you spot and fix any gaps in your balances.

1) Transactions Not Imported via API

The following transaction types are currently not supported:

  • Margin PnL

  • Earn (partly)

  • Sub-Account Bot Trades

  • Crypto Lending

  • Spotlight

  • KuCoin Win

  • Fast Trades (not available via CSV either)

  • Borrowing

2) API Import Time Limits

  • KuCoin API only imports data from the last 12 months.

  • The data from the last year will be imported only when you either save a new job or click Check Now.

  • The automatic daily import fetches only the last few days of data.

3) How do I record Margin or Futures results that aren't imported?

Since Margin PnL isn't pulled in automatically via the API, Margin and Futures results should be entered manually using the dedicated PnL (Realized Profit/Loss) transaction type instead of trying to import or recreate each individual Margin/Futures trade. This keeps your gains/losses accurate without needing every underlying trade.

4) How do I handle Bot Trades that can't be imported?

Sub-Account Bot Trades are not supported by the KuCoin API. Rather than importing every individual bot transaction, treat the bot as a "black box": only record the net deposit into the bot and the net withdrawal out of it. This avoids the need to reconstruct each trade the bot made internally. A dedicated guide covers this approach in more detail for bot trades that can't be imported.

5) My API import job looks wrong or incomplete. What should I do?

If an API import job has missing, duplicated, or otherwise incorrect data, the recommended fix is to delete the faulty import job and set it up again from scratch following the standard KuCoin API import instructions, rather than trying to patch the existing job.

6) How do I check if my KuCoin balances are correct in CoinTracking?

If your CoinTracking balance doesn't match your real KuCoin balance, this is usually caused by one of the unsupported transaction types listed above, or by an import gap. To diagnose and fix balance mismatches:

  • Run a ValiCheck, which compares your real exchange balances against what was actually imported into CoinTracking, helping you pinpoint exactly where discrepancies occur.

  • Use CoinTracking's account-check tools, such as the Transaction Flow Report and the Missing Transactions Report, to identify gaps or missing entries in your transaction history.

  • Once the missing or incorrect transactions are identified, add them manually (e.g., Margin PnL via the PnL transaction type, or Bot trades via the net deposit/withdrawal method above).
