Are there known issues with Poloniex imports?
Most of the time, the Poloniex API import works correctly. However, there have been periods where Poloniex sent incorrect values, which was confirmed by their support. If you're experiencing inconsistencies, please set up a new Poloniex API key and re-import your data to see if the issue is resolved.
What should I do if my data appears incorrect?
Recheck Your Transactions
Go to the Transactions page in CoinTracking.
Compare your imported trades with Poloniex’s official History page.
If discrepancies exist, manually correct them or use one of our bulk import tools.
Try a CSV + API Combo
Use the Poloniex CSV Import for your full transaction history.
Then create a new API job with a start date set to today so that only future transactions will be pulled in.
Are CSV and API imports compatible?
No. Poloniex CSV and API imports are not compatible. If you’ve previously used the CSV importer, this will be displayed on the API import page.
If you want to switch from CSV to API:
Delete all existing Poloniex data
Re-import your full history via CSV
Then enable the API job with a future start date to avoid duplication
Note: Our system normally uses trade IDs to detect duplicates. Unfortunately, Poloniex API exports do not provide trade IDs, which increases the risk of duplicate or missed entries when mixing import methods.
Summary
Poloniex API generally works, but check for known data issues
CSV and API imports should not be mixed
Use CSV for past data, API for future imports only
Always compare your imported transactions to Poloniex’s History page to confirm accuracy
