Number of Trades

TL;DR: The Number of Trades & Transactions page visualizes how frequently transactions occur in your CoinTracking account. It allows you to group, filter, and compare transaction counts over time, making it a useful tool for analyzing trading activity patterns and preparing reports.

Chart Overview

Main Graph Area

The main chart displays the number of transactions over time.
Hovering over a bar reveals the exact transaction count and the corresponding date, for example “March 2024: 319 Transactions”.

View Modes

You can change the chart type using the leftmost dropdown menu. Available options include:

  • Column, showing vertical bars per time period

  • Column (stacked), stacking grouped components for cumulative comparison

  • Area, displaying a smooth area chart

  • Area (summed), combining all groups into a single filled chart

Grouping and Interval Controls

Grouping Options

The second dropdown controls how transactions are grouped:

  • Not grouped, aggregating all transactions

  • Grouped by exchange, allowing comparison across exchanges such as Kraken or Bitget

  • Grouped by trade group, showing transactions by wallet or user-defined category

  • Grouped by transaction type, displaying categories such as Deposit, Trade, or Staking

Time Interval

The third dropdown defines the date granularity:

  • By day

  • By month (default)

  • By year

Currency Filter

Using the All Currencies dropdown, you can:

  • View all transactions (default)

  • Filter the chart to a single currency, such as BTC, ETH, or USDT

Advanced Filtering

Clicking the Filter (xx/xx) button opens an advanced filtering panel with extensive options:

  • Transaction types, with 46 selectable categories such as Trade, Airdrop, or Staking

  • Incoming and outgoing sections to separate transaction directions

  • Exchange selection to limit the chart to specific platforms

  • Group selection for wallets or user-defined groups

  • View the chart in full screen

  • Print the chart

  • Download the chart as PNG, JPEG, PDF, or SVG
