TL;DR: "Value at transaction" shows the historical value of each trade, calculated at the time it occurred. You can view it on the Trade Prices page. It can be negative if the value of sold coins exceeds the value of purchased ones in a single transaction.
Where do I see it?
Visit the Trade Prices page to find the “value at transaction” field. This reflects the historical price of the asset at the time the trade happened, shown in EUR or BTC.
Why would the value be negative?
This happens when you sell crypto for more than you spent to acquire it. Example:
Buy 1 BTC at $1,000.
Sell 0.5 BTC at $4,000 (total = $2,000).
The value at transaction = -$1,000 because the outgoing value exceeded the original cost.
Why does this matter?
Understanding this helps verify your gains and can highlight issues in trade data or fee entries. It’s also helpful when reviewing cost basis or preparing tax reports.
