How to Fix Issues with Reports Not Loading or Working Properly

In this article, we will explain why reports may not load and how to fix the issue. If you're having trouble with reports like the Gains Report not loading, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.

1) Checking the Validation Report


Before diving into browser or system settings, it's important to ensure that the validation report is free of any warnings/errors: 


Go to the Validation Report and check for any warnings/errors.


Click on the symbol on the left side of the warning/error to see the cause of the specific issue and how to fix it:



If there are no issues with the report itself, move on to checking browser-related problems.


2) Checking Browser Issues


Sometimes, issues with loading reports can be traced back to your browser. Here's what you can do:

  • Update Your Browser: Using an outdated browser can cause compatibility issues with modern websites. Ensure your browser is updated to the latest version to avoid any loading issues.
  • Clear Browser Cache: Cached data can sometimes prevent pages from loading correctly. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try reloading the report.
  • Disable Browser Extensions: Certain extensions, particularly ad blockers or privacy tools, can interfere with website functionality. Temporarily disable them and check if the report loads.
  • Try a Different Browser: If the issue persists, try opening the report in a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) to rule out browser-specific issues.


If the report loads fine in a different browser or after clearing your cache, the issue was likely related to browser settings.


3) Additional Measures


If the above steps didn’t solve the problem, here are a few additional measures you can take:

  • Check Internet Connection: A slow or unstable connection can cause reports to fail to load. Ensure that your internet connection is stable and try refreshing the page.
  • Disable VPN/Firewall: If you’re using a VPN or have strict firewall settings, they may block certain reports from loading. Try disabling them temporarily to check if the report loads.


Common issue for NordVPN users:


If the additional malware protection or AdBlock settings within NordVPN are enabled, it can prevent reports like the Gains Report from loading properly. It can also cause issues with downloaded tax reports, resulting in corrupt files that cannot be opened.


To resolve this, please check if the AdBlock or malware protection features within NordVPN are active, and if so, disable them:
