All Transaction types can be selected or changed on the Enter Coins page by either creating a new transaction or selecting an existing one and clicking on edit.

Explanation of the different Transaction types
(including which tax report they will appear in)
TRADES
Regular Trades
- Trade: used for regular transactions. Example: buying or selling a coin at an Exchange (more information: Entering Trades) [Capital Gains Report]
Open Trades
- Margin Trade: used for all open margin trades. Those transactions will be ignored in tax reports. Once you close your margin trade, change its type to Margin Profit or Margin Loss.
- Derivatives / Futures Trade: used for all open derivatives and futures trades. Those transactions will be ignored in tax and gains reports. Once you close your trade, change its type to Derivatives / Futures Profit or Derivatives / Futures Loss.
TRANSFERS
- Deposit: used for regular transfers of currencies you own. Transfers are non taxable (except the fees spend) and will be ignored in tax and gains reports. Example: You deposit 1 BTC at Kraken.
- Withdrawal: used for regular transfers of currencies you own. Transfers are non taxable (except the fees spend) and will be ignored in tax and gains reports. Example: You withdraw 1 BTC from Kraken.
- Transfer: basically a one step entry that creates a deposit and a withdrawal at once. Used for regular transfers of currencies you own between exchanges or wallets. Use this function only if both parts of the transfer (deposit AND withdrawal) are missing to avoid duplicates.
INCOMING TRANSACTIONS
General
- Income: used for earnings you have generated through work or the sale of goods. Example: Revenue of 10 BTC through Freelance Job. [Income Report]
- Gift / Tip: used for gifts or tips that you have received for free. [Income Report]
- Reward / Bonus: used for all other rewards and bonus income. [Income Report]
Blockchain
- Mining: used for revenues from the private mining of coins. [Income Report]
- Mining (commercial): used for revenues from the commercial mining of coins (incl. mining machines). [Income Report]
- Airdrop: used for free coins received through airdrops. [Income Report]
- Staking: used for coins received through staking. [Income Report]
- Masternode: used for coins received through masternodes. [Income Report]
- Minting: used for coins received through minting. [Income Report]
Interest
- Dividends Income: used for all dividend income. [Income Report]
- Lending Income: used for all income from lending coins and currencies. [Income Report]
- Interest Income: used for all interest income. [Income Report]
Advanced
- Margin Profit: used for profits from closed margin trades. If your margin trade is not yet closed, select Margin Trade. [Capital Gains Report]
- Derivatives / Futures Profit: used for profits from closed derivatives and futures trades. If your trade is not yet closed, select Derivatives / Futures Trade. [Capital Gains Report]
- Other Income: used for taxable income that does not fit into any other category. [Income Report]
- Income (non taxable): used for income that is not taxable. Transaction will not appear in the tax report.
OUTGOING TRANSACTIONS
General
- Spend: used for expenses like goods or services. [Capital Gains Report]
- Donation: used for donations made to registered charities or non-profit organizations. [Gift and Donation Report]
- Gift: used for gifts or donations made to individuals or unregistered charities. [Gift and Donation Report]
- Stolen: used for currencies stolen by fraud, hacks, etc. [Lost and Stolen Report]
- Lost: used for currencies you no longer have access to. Example: loss of your wallets private key or lost funds on a closed exchange. [Lost and Stolen Report]
Interest fees
- Borrowing Fee: used for fees due from borrowing currencies. [Fee Report]
- Settlement Fee: used for fees due from settlements. [Fee Report]
Advanced
- Margin Loss: used for absolute losses from closed margin trades. If your margin trade is not yet closed, select Margin Trade [Capital Gains Report]
- Margin Fee: used for fees from the closing of margin trades. [Fee Report]
- Derivatives / Futures Loss: used for losses from closed derivatives and futures trades. If your trade is not yet closed, select Derivatives / Futures Trade. [Capital Gains Report]
- Other Fee: used for all fees that do not fit into any other category. [Fee Report]
- Other Expense: used for taxable expenses that do not fit into any other category. [Capital Gains Report]
- Expense (non taxable): used for non taxable expenses that do not fit into any other category. Transaction will not appear in the tax report.
